Background

Rusty belongs to everyone.

In desert communities there is often a dog like her. She moves easily between houses, greeting each person like an old friend. Her tail begins to wag before you even speak her name.

Rusty is gentle, loyal, and always ready to walk beside whoever is heading down the track. Children climb over her, elders scratch behind her ears, and she accepts it all with quiet patience.

Dogs like Rusty are part of the rhythm of community life. Always nearby, always watching, always happy to see you.
