Coopers Creek, 2026
100 × 150 cm, Acrylic on Canvas
Background
Evening settles slowly over Cooper’s Creek.
All day the desert carried heat, dust and silence. Then the storm passed through and the creek woke again. Water spread across the bends and channels, filling the old paths it remembers even after long dry seasons.
By dusk the air cools and the country breathes out. Birds return to the water’s edge. The ground darkens where the creek has travelled, leaving new shapes across the sand.
In desert country, water changes everything. For a short time Cooper’s Creek becomes a place of movement and life, reflecting the last light of the evening sky before night settles over the land again.
