These paintings honour the desert brumbies of Beyondie… wild and free across Martu Country, then brought into the Beyondie stockyards where my uncles broke them in and turned them into working horses.
This is not a story of taming for taming’s sake… it’s about respect, craft, and the bond between rider and horse forged in red dirt and long horizons.
Beyondie brumbies carried our musters, our days, our stories. They were freedom made useful… desert wisdom channelled into cattle work. On canvas, they return as they were: spirited, capable, and alive with Country.
